Brand development

Building a brand comes with so many obstacles. Logo development is only a small piece of the puzzle, but arguably the most important piece to get right. That being said, it is our responsibility as designers to help our clients put their best foot forward with killer brand identity.

Typography

It's no secret that logo typography can make or break your brand. Especially if type is all that you're working with. Choosing an appropriate font style for your brand is often the most time consuming part of the logo development process — for good reason I might add. Once I've locked in on the perfect style, I start to pay more attention to the smaller details (i.e., kerning, leading, weight, etc.). And those details matter! Making mere minor adjustments to the logo type can have amazing affects on the mood and theme in which you're trying to convey.

Color and attitude

Color, in regard to logo creation, is quite often the most overlooked aspect of the overall process. It usually comes last, which means that it is easy to rush past in hopes of efficiently completing the project. If a style guide is not available, this can be one of the most difficult parts of the process. Achieving the right brand attitude with color can be very challenging, but so incredibly satisfying when done well.
